BOTOX ® injections can be used to treat excessive sweating with results lasting up to 6 months.
Hyperhidrosis? Am I affected?
Perspiration (sweating) is actually a healthy, normal function of our bodies. But some people suffer from excessive sweating that goes beyond the body’s necessary regulation of its temperature. Overactive sweat glands are often responsible for hyperhidrosis. Depending on the cause, there are different treatments available.
What does the procedure entail?
Botox® is injected into several areas of the skin and this instantly prevents the sweat glands from producing sweat. Botox® not only has a paralyzing effect on muscles, but also on the glands and can therefore significantly reduce the body’s perspiration by blocking the chemical signals from the nerves that stimulate them. This method is mainly used in the armpit area and on the palms of the hands.
Botox® to prevent sweating
During the summer season we often notice an increased interest in Botox® injections for the armpit area. Especially when the weather is warmer, our patients can avoid unpleasant underarm wet patches and the embarrassment of sweat-stained, discoloured clothing.
How long do the effects last?
Botox® treatment only takes 20 minutes and lasts up to 6 months. Which is more or less a whole summer.
Cost of treatment £400
